Dr. Benjamin Larson is a Principal at 1004 Venture Partners, joining in 2025 following the successful exit of his Silicon Valley biotech startup. Dr. Larson spent nine years as a Research Scientist and PI at Harvard and MIT in the laboratory of Robert Langer, where he led a research group specializing in regenerative medicine, cell therapy, and drug delivery. A prolific innovator, his career includes over 20 patents and papers with an h-index of 19 and more than 8,200 citations. As a startup guru, he has had operating experience in 7 biotech startups thus far.  His work has been featured at the Smithsonian Institution, and he was recently honored with a TIME Magazine Invention of the Year award in 2025.

He holds a BSE in biomedical engineering from Tulane and a PhD from the Tulane School of Medicine’s Center for Gene Therapy.
